  • RULES AND REGULATIONS

    1. A current MJA membership card must be carried with photographs at all times. NIGHT FISHING facilities are available on Tetton Lake, Holts Pool and Railway Flash

    A booking system is in operation for these 3 venues. No night fishing on Holts Pool between 15th March and 1st May. For night bookings text the dedicated number 07498799824

    2. ROD RULES, 2 rods may only be usedon Tetton Lake, Holts Pool and Railway Flash, 1 rod on all other waters.

    3. All fish must be returned to the water.

    4. NO DOGS allowed on association waters or adjoining land.

    5. Only bivvies/day shelters allowed. Camping tents are forbidden. Strictly NO guests or visitors.

    6. You MUST be in close proximity to your rods at all times.

    7. You MUST use official access points at all times.

    8. No fires to be lit.

    9. Do not cause annoyance to other members, keep noise to a minimum.

    10. Fishing Times! If no night permit, you are allowed on the water 1 hour before sunrise but must leave no later then 1 hour after sunset. Check website / notice board for amendments.

    11. No pre-baiting allowed on any of our waters. NUTS and BEANS are banned on all waters.

    12. Please be discreet when answering a call of nature, BURY IT or BAG IT and take it home with you.

    13. No keep nets to be used between April 1st - June 16th inclusive on all our waters

    14. On still waters you must fish within the confines of your own swim and where both banks are pegged.

    15. On permanently pegged waters you must fish from the pegs provided.

    16. Juniors under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

    17. When fishing the River Dane please stay at the waters edge and respect the farmers land and fencing.

    18. Maximum hook size on all waters is 4.

    19. All members must be in possession of a current Environmental Agency rod license which must be shown to the Bailiff when requested.

    20. PIKE FISHING - NO LIVE BAITING. DEAD BAITING is allowed but not between the dates of 1st June - 1st October inclusive. Spinning is allowed all year. Unhooking mats to be used at all times. NO GAGS ALLOWED.

    21. No gags allowed, this is UK legislation

  • JUNIOR RULES

    Junior membership is open to children aged between 7-15. All junior anglers on club waters must have a valid permit and be accompanied by an adult 18+ who will be responsible and answerable to the committee for the safety and conduct of the junior.

    Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent/nominated guardian who is fully responsible and accountable for the child whilst on MJA fisheries. The child is permitted to fish a float rod during daylight hours under the supervision of the adult for silver fish for the purpose of mentoring the child for Carp fishing. The parent/guardian must use their own rods (max 2) to demonstrate/educate the child regarding tactics and disciplines of Carp fishing. The child must remain on the same peg as the adult at all times.

    Children between the age of 13 - 16 are permitted to fish on their own on MJA waters, using float/feeder rods and at the discretion of the bailiffs, based on the individuals experience and abilities, may be granted permission to fish a dedicated Carp rod during daylight hours

    Parents/guardians wishing to take a junior night fishing with them may do so providing they are booked in with the adult and all the above rules are adhered to!

    Any Guest/Parent/Guardian who accompanies the Junior who has no permit themselves must obtain a guest card from Daves or the bailiffs on the water for £5 for the year!
